Gottfried Helnwein image cont.

100% honestly, I have no clue what it means, it's a giant picture of a girl on the side of a building. It's obviously printed, the side of the building is rigid but the photo is flat. It is made of multiple pieces, you can see a few lines, but they are hardly visible, I imagine they have something like a billboard and they plastered or glued or somethinged it to that. The location looks like a derelict factory, industrial. I have no clue what the image could mean, I don't get the symbolic meaning.

Response: to this work by Gottfried Helnwein.

Well, it looks like some dude is climbing up the face of a little kid, creep. It seems more artistic than documentary, in the context given it makes no sense as a documentary. I don't think that it is photoshopped. It looks more like a painting, so it makes sense that maybe the guy is climbing up the wall so he can finish it or coming down, he doesn't have his brushes or spray cans on him so they might be up at the top. Perhaps the photographer just say this and decided to take advantage of the moment. On second thought maybe it is documentary as well as artistic, its obviously artistic since he clearly chose to only show the finished parts, but if the climber is the painter the photo might be a part of a series of pictures documenting the progress of the painting. If the photo is documentary than the meaning is simply: to document whatever the person on the kids face is doing. If it is artistic I'd say that the adult on the kids face is actually "adulthood" or ...
