Response: to this work by Gottfried Helnwein.

Well, it looks like some dude is climbing up the face of a little kid, creep. It seems more artistic than documentary, in the context given it makes no sense as a documentary. I don't think that it is photoshopped. It looks more like a painting, so it makes sense that maybe the guy is climbing up the wall so he can finish it or coming down, he doesn't have his brushes or spray cans on him so they might be up at the top. Perhaps the photographer just say this and decided to take advantage of the moment. On second thought maybe it is documentary as well as artistic, its obviously artistic since he clearly chose to only show the finished parts, but if the climber is the painter the photo might be a part of a series of pictures documenting the progress of the painting. If the photo is documentary than the meaning is simply: to document whatever the person on the kids face is doing. If it is artistic I'd say that the adult on the kids face is actually "adulthood" or "maturity" and he is slowly climbing up into the kid's mind to make him mature. Ok the kid is a girl, that breaks my theory because why would the mind of a little girl be made into the mature mind of a man...... unless she learns from a dad how to be mature. I think the small size of the man is because her mature beliefs are small compared to the young innocent childish ones, and he is still climbing up her face and has a long way to go to reach her mind.
